These days it seems hard to come by a classic album by an artist. By classic album I mean nine out of every ten songs is good. Labels are scared to take chances and are putting out half cocked albums usually frontloaded with singles and short on substance. At the same time most there are people who craft albums with so much “substance” no one cares. I don’t want to save the whales I want something I can ride to and 5 years from now I won’t be ashamed that I have this cd in my collection **cough** soulja boy tell em cough**. With classics albums hard to come by on iTunes, Amazon, or Best Buy, Big K.R.I.T. is giving away a classic album on datpiff.com. K.R.I.T., which stands for King Remembered In Time, produced and wrote the entire album. He gives you soul, swagger and conciousness without contradiction. “My Sub” an ode to the speakers that enhance the sound we all love K.R.I.T. mixes heavy bass production with good lyrical cadence and a southern twang that makes the song stand out. On Another N.I.G.G.E.R. Naive Individual Glorifying Greed and Encouraging Racism he both promotes the positives of what being black means in America but also discusses the stereotypes that we ourselves continue to bolster. The only place this album falters are on the tracks “Sookie Now” and “Made Alot” featuring David Banner and Big Sant respectively. Their additions to the songs did not add to the greatness that was already there. Still all in all 19 out of 21 songs makes this a classic that you need to download and makes Big K.R.I.T. someone you need to look for when he finally gets his Def Jam release date.
