Win Win

Sometimes when you’re winning there’s pressure to keep winning. But look at the margin of error. In the NBA and NFL there’s a 3% chance of winning the championship. (although the odds go up if you have a Lebron James or Tom Brady) But whenever you consider what it takes to “win” remember no one ever wins without a team. Even in one man sports such as a track and field (Husain Bolt) and swimming (Michael Phelps) the behind the scenes people make it possible for an individual to win. So with that being said I predict that the NY Giants will go the way 2011 Dallas Mavericks did. Having a stripped down team that does “well” but does not make a repeat performance.

Royalty Agreement

In an agreement that could pave the way for more varied ways of distributing digital music, three major music trade groups have filed an agreement that sets mechanical royalty rates and standards with an eye toward supporting “cutting-edge business models to help consumers access and enjoy music.”

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) and Digital Media Association (DiMA) are filing an industry-wide agreement that fully resolves the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) Rate Proceeding under Section 115 of the Copyright Act.

Art of the MC x Christian Rap

Filmmaker Art Hooker, relative of blues legend John Lee Hooker, is preparing to do for Christian Hip Hop what films such as How to Be an MC and the Art of the MC did for mainstream rap. However instead of just focusing on the technique or the skill involved in the artform he will delve much deeper into the effects the music and movement are having around the world. The film, entitled Unashamed, will chronicle many popular Reach Records artists such as Lecrae, Pro, Trip Lee, KB, Tedashii, Andy Mineo, 1-1-6 Clique and even popular artists outside of the label. Hooker is also hoping to showcase a 37 city tour which culminates in Johannesburg, South Africa.
